Conservation and Star Trek

Can't follow you again?

Not today.  Today (saturday) we went to the Convention Center where the World Conservation Congress is being held.
It's held every four years and this is the first time the US is hosting it.

The first floor, open to the general public, was where all the booths featuring environmental concerns of countries around the world were displayed, with colorful posters and pamphlets, and speakers also.

Among the pressing concerns were the hunting of wildlife, especially elephants and gorillas, and the preservation of Okinawan dugongs.

Upstairs was where the more serious presentations were held, but you needed a pass to enter.

After, we shared the Mediterranean Hummus at Habitant in Nordstrom..

and the nice cold soybean shaved ice with ice cream at Shirokiya.

Friday, passing by a Mac cosmetic store in the Mall, some colorful people caught my eye.
I'm not that much of a Star Trek fan, but I recognized the Vulcan salute so I doubled back to take a photo with these Starship Enterprise Shipmates.

"Spock" didn't like my salute so he explained how to do it.
Something about my thumb.

That's better.  Sorry.

After that, I needed something fattening and sweet,  and there was Magnolia Bakery with their new ice cream sandwiches.

Very relaxing break next to a lilly pool

Peanut butter cookies and vanilla caramel ice cream.
