H's Banana Bread, honoring Sensei, Tofu

The Best Banana Bread!
We're always so happy when Henry bakes his bread from a recipe he was able to get from an Inn in the Adirondacks some years back.
Since I love walnuts, he always has a section of the loaf chock full of the nuts.
Even Betty and her husband agreed it is the best Banana Bread ever.
Henry has tried many recipes using different sweeteners, oils, flours, bananas, and pan liners and has settled on this.
This happy eating event takes place in our gym before our Zumba class.   Great incentive both to come to class and to exercise diligently.

Last Saturday was the Installation luncheon of the new UJSH president Sheree.
She wanted to honor Miura Sensei for promoting naginata in Hawaii.
A much deserved honor for Sensei.

Sheree did a kata with Kent Sempai.
Besides having taken naginata, Sheree also teaches Japanese dancing as Hanayagi Mitsusumi, won the Grand Champion award of the 1989 amateur karaoke contest and represented Hawaii in Japan,  and opened Mililani Aikido Dojo.
Wow.

Here are Kent and Glen Sempais demonstrating a kata.

The Cherry Blossom Queen and her Court were there to greet guests.

It's been awhile since we last visited Shokudo restaurant.
I had a nice fatty Hamachi nigiri and Ikura Sushi.  Yum.

The house made tofu was delicious.
And it was served with Hawaiian salt as well as dashi.
