Shokudo, Chez Kenzo, Manoa

Hmm.    Haven't been to any new places lately, but we seem to keep going back to the old ones…   For instance..

Shokudo
They're open from 11:30 a.m.
throughout the day.

Fish and Chips.
Well, actually Hamachi
Carpaccio and Yukari
(seasoned)
fries.   The Hamachi is vinegared
and topped with raw wasabi, then
wrapped around finely julienned
daikon (radish).  It's quite vinegary
so the fries go well with it.  (Any
excuse for fries).

And of course Chez Kenzo.
Cooked salmon over sushi rice, topped
with lomi tomatos.

Filet steak with ponzu sauce.

Waiola Shave Ice
In Ward's Warehouse.  Their ice is
super fine . I like mine a bit more
crunchy, but it's great on a hot
day.
There are photos of their other stores.
The top one is in McCully on Waiola
Street where we used to bring the kids
when they were little.

Um, mine is the strawberry.  I guess R
was thinking of the Azuki ices  in Tokyo with
unsweetened mochi balls and no
condensed milk.

Took Penny for a walk around
Manoa Elementary School.

Green Manoa.  Can't believe
I used to fit into those
classrooms.
