Lei ladies and music, hot pot, etc

There is a happy group of ladies that meet daily in the Food Court at Ala Moana SC to socialize and make leis.
After zumba R and I met Janie to join them because sometimes former musicians join them and sing.

Made from paper, their leis are lovingly folded and stringed with  "kukui" nuts.

The service dog belonging to one of the ladies who is diabetic.
This amazing dog, part Chihuahua and Shiba, can sense when she has too much sugar in her system.
And he is cute too!

Janie and Calvin Santos.  He was a beach boy when Ritchie Valens, Kui Lee, Don Ho were popular and performed with them.
He knows hundreds of songs in his head and can play Paul Anka, Elvis, Country Western, Beatles, as well as Hawaiian songs.

Food.
One of the most reasonable and good hot pot restaurants is in Moiliili-  Sweet Home Cafe

You order from a variety of broths, then go up to the refrigerator and choose your own plates of meats, veggies, tofu.
Your tab is calculated from the number and types of plates on the table.

Free dessert, size depending on the number of diners,  has shaved ice, tapioca pops, almond tofu, lychee jelly and condensed milk.
A meal can cost from $11 - $30.

From the internet, sent by a friend,  cute sayings that are written daily by the owner of a store in the States.

A happy memory from a trip to the Pacific Aviation Museum in Pearl Harbor in July.
A very valuable and fun place to visit, especially with a docent like Jay!
