Moiliili Community Summer Festival and Bon Odori

The Moiliili Summer festival and Bon Dance in its third year.

There were games and a large variety of craft and food booths.

When we arrived there were seats available, but we brought our own chairs and attached umbrellas that a friend had thoughtfully provided for us.

As it grew darker it was SRO with a very crowded dance ring.
Hawaii Baptist Academy Taiko group performed lively pieces.

Food from Guam and the Marshall Islands, among other stands, almost like a big Farmer's Market.

Il Gelato dessert!
It showered off and on, but no one seemed to care.
Besides, there was Kathy's "Teruteru Bozu" to ward off the worst rain.

Denise said to wear a Hapi jacket instead of a Yukata, which was wise, because of the rain and crowded conditions.
There was a trailer bathroom and the ground and chairs would get wet from the rain.

Denise sewed  a handy Hapi jacket bag for me to hold fans and flags , which we usually stick into our Yukata obis.
As usual, politicians were there to promote themselves for the next election.
Naginata practice earlier and a Bon Dance later.  A fun way to get my exercise.
