Thought I'd practice making some Tamagoyaki (omelet).
They say you can judge how good a Sushi restaurant is by its Tamago sushi.
Armed with a brand new Tamagoyaki pan, 4 eggs flavored with
mirin, salt and shoyu, and some youtube videos on how to
make it in my mind, I bravely thought I'd try.
You keep moving the cooked portion back and forth .
The pan is too hot!
That's not how it's supposed
to look.
You can wrap it in a bamboo
sushi shaper so now the shape
is ok.
Unfortunately, it's still dry, overcooked and unappetizing.
Even Penny and Pudgie didn't eat it.
Bet some Japanese mothers will laugh at it, but I take comfort in the fact that I'm waaay too old to care!
