St. Andrews Episcopal Cathedral, Ukuleles and a yagura

Janie took me to the
Wednesday Holy
Eucharist at her church,
St. Andrews Cathedral.

Such a peaceful, lovely setting.
This bird bath was there when
she posed for her Wedding photos!

It was a quiet, beautiful
Service.

Held here in the Parke Chapel.
We emerged feeling refreshed and calm.

The Stained Glass in the main
Cathedral.

We then found Oahu Makerspace,   a big two story building off Nimitz Hwy where Reid Shigemura creates, and fixes ukuleles and guitars in his woodwork shop within Makerspace.

He showed us around the many workspaces full of equipment where anyone can pursue their projects in blacksmithing, metal working,  digital sculpting, leather work and many more crafts.

Here is Reid Shigemura
with his creation, the
Pahulele, a travel
ukulele that folds.

With Janie, an old friend,
and the Tenor Ukulele he
had made for her a while ago.

And there in the corner was the Yagura for the Fukushima Bon Dance Club getting an overhaul in preparation for the summer OBon season.
We were so happy to see it since over the years, many of our friends have sung, played and danced in and around it.
