And the Tempura ice cream at Tokoname in Manoa. It was especially crispy and fresh that evening and the ice cream in the center was so refreshing after sushi. (We only eat half of it and have a hard time leaving the other half alone. ) |
Also tried Hi no Ne, Mizu no Ne after a couple of years. |
The rice is cooked in a Kama, but it still seemed dry and slightly hard. |
I have started taking Hula lessons from Kumu Michael Pilli Pang, so after my hairdresser appointment, we have a bowl of the famous Clam Chowder (made fresh with cream and milk with each order, the bartender informed me) at the Reef Lounge for supper, and then on to my lessons which are super enjoyable. Sunday evening, we joined Denise and Jay at Kincaids, which was celebrating their 40th anniversary with a $40 dinner course set. Looking out the window at the harbor I was so happy I could recognize that the name of the boat named "Makani" meant wind. Besides the dance, we also learn Hawaiian words, which is a challenge, but interesting. |
We all chose the Pork Chops for our main course. Denise wore a beautiful and unusual shell necklace. |
A trio of their famous desserts - Key Lime Pie, Creme Brûlée and Bread Pudding. |
