Afternoon at Honolulu Museum of Art and Farmer's Market

Every first wednesday is free admissions day at the Honolulu Museum of Art.

There was an interesting display of how people kept cool during the hot summers.  One way was to tell ghost stories.
This Japanese nagajuban (under kimono) was made during the Meiji Era (1868-1912).  It depicts a female ghost floating from a lantern, which are typical summer motifs.

The special exhibition was Chinese art during the 3rd-6th centuries.

Leaving the Museum, we walk through Thomas Square Park..

...and come to Blaisdell Farmer's Market.

Stop in at the Pig and the Lady for a sandwich and dry pho.

And the stall next door for those sandwich ice creams.
Great supper!
