Aloha shirts and food

As I was walking in the mall today, this old style Muu muu caught my eye.  When I was small I  had a mother-daughter one.  Wish I had kept it.
Looked interesting so I entered.

Old Palaka shirt.

The Aloha Shirt pioneers.
Musashiya shirt.

A prototype of Reyn's inside out shirts.

                                                                    **
It's been awhile since we last had something from Mariposa's light meal menu (after lunch and before dinner service).
The Poke was good as usual.  Brown rice, cucumbers, tomatoes, hamachi, salmon and ahi with their sauce.
R had the very delicious Mariposa burger.
And, of course, popovers come with the meal.

It was a very nice day outside and there were many tourists, especially from Japan, having a light meal.

After our meal, we walked through Shirokiya's Japan Village to see if the crowds have abated a little.   A salesman at Bloomingdales told me that it's empty in the morning,  and still very crowded at lunch.   But it's good to have something like this.
The aisles are confusing at first, especially when trying to find individual stores.  They need a map!

Marion's Crepes was very popular, with a long line of customers.

Hikotaro, a Kyoto dessert counter.
Must try!

Fukunao, an 18 yr. old Maiko from Myagawa-cho in Gion, Kyoto from an overhead video program.

Nice publicity for Kyoto

Manichi Ifudodo which claims it has the" best gyoza in Japan".
(They won the title in a 2004 Japanese TV program)
They were pretty good, I was told.
