Kusama Pumpkin, ladies lunch at Moku

PUMPKIN, 6 ft. high bronze sculpture by Japanese artist, Yayoi Kusama, sitting in a clear pool in the Ewa walkway of Ala Moana Shopping Center.
Kusama was very active in New York until 1975, when she returned to Japan and later voluntarily committed herself into a hospital for the mentally ill, with a studio nearby in Shinjuku.
Under Yayoi Kusama Pumpkin Images, there are many variations of this polka dot pumpkin.
Yayoi Kusama, b. 1929.
This evening was the first time I really looked at this sculpture, having passed by it countless times while walking or shopping.

The world of Kusama, Yayoi was opened up to me by my two knowledgable friends, Linda and Pat, at lunch today at Moku's.
The Pinot Grigio was so refreshing and went well with our meal.
We got the bottle ($30)

I had the Margherita Pizza.  I was eyeing it during my previous visits when one of the servers mentioned that the flour they use for the crust is the best and is imported from Italy.
It was good with a slight salt taste.

Linda had the Fish and Chips and Pat the Mahi Burger.
We were told the Mahimahi was purchased at the 4 a.m. auction.
Always delicious and fresh.
I know that one big slice of cucumber is slightly pickled and is crunchy perfect with the fish.

And we shared two of the cream pies - Haupia and Banana.
Nice and rich, like the Strawberry and Chocolate I had had before.
Which flavor?  hmm, depends on what your mouth is in the mood for, with the French Pressed Coffee that they serve.

Three contented ladies!
