Les Miserables by New Hope Youth Performing Arts Center

Today we left Penny at Poi Dogs for her first overnight stay.  All these dogs (15) will be with her tonight, as well as a staff member.  What an experience it will be for Penny.

Now we can go to enjoy Les Miserables, put on by New Hope Youth Performing Arts Center on Sand Island.
Sold out performances!

The sets, props and costumes looked  authentic and the cast
swept us away to early 1800 France and the people who lived in those tumultuous times.

Pastor Wayne Cordeiro was Jean Valjean and our own Craig Shimizu Sensei was a very villainous though comical Monsieur Thenardier.   We found ourselves looking forward to his appearances to provide comic relief to a sad play where so many characters suffer and die.

Bravo, Craig Sensei.
