Maui no ka oi. Great food:dry saimin, Tante's

M knows Maui pretty well.  She likes to drive and explore and is an efficient guide.   We visited some interesting and delicious eating places.
Of course we had to try
Sam Sato's.
Everyone recommends it.

Family style restaurant that
has dry saimin.  Must try!

Extra dry veggie saimin.
Hmm how to eat it…
Since there was a little bowl of soup I dipped the flavored
noodles in it with each bite, like eating Japanese zaru soba.
Chewy, not overly salty and so good!

The first night, M was busy
so R and I decided to eat in
 our hotel.
But no, dinner is served only on
saturdays (a prime rib buffet)so
they told us to go right next door
to the Maui Seaside Hotel to
Tante's Restaurant.

It's an old style place that
was worth the walk over
in the light rain.

They also serve Filipino
food.  M told us the PorkAdobo
is excellent so I ordered it.
It was!
R had the Hawaiian mix plate.
Like a little buffet on one dish.
Kalua pork, teriyaki beef, fried
fish, lomi salmon, haupia, poi.
