fun and music at Nico's, new Harbor restaurant

Pretty surprise.  The entryway to Koolani Condominium, where our gym is, has a new colorful look.

Our Zumba Gold class was small today, with more men than ladies!  I also did the machines because we were going to ...

Nico's
Janie's guitar teacher and his friend Nando played jazz standards so Isao said whoever could name five songs in a row would get a prize that Janie had made!
Denise starting things off with drinks.
(Not all hers)

Jay gloating over his steak.
We all had their famous short ribs.
Janie tried the ahi ribs, although she preferred the crispier appetizer version she had ordered on her last visit.

Hmm.  Who can resist these highly caloric desserts when accompanied by such good friends.
It was a close battle with Jay and Denise, but R won the name the tune prize, which was one of Janie's lovely wristlets, woven with flowers from her garden.
It was a pretty sunset over the harbor and a very fun and satisfying dinner.

Leaving Nico's, we all trouped upstairs to check the newly opened Harbor restaurant.

Very pretty and  more upscale than Nico's or Uncle's.  The hostess was welcoming and took us on a tour.

The kitchen was spacious.

She mentioned that their  Rassa oven, which uses kiawe charcoal, heats up their meats to over 800 degrees, sealing in the flavors.
Must come back to try this new restaurant.   The view should be pretty as it is above Nico's.
