Pudgie

Now it's Pudgie, the lovebird's turn for a vet visit!

He again started pulling his feathers around the tail area, enough to draw blood.  Steve at Chez Kenzo mentioned this Clinic because he saw a few birds in cages when he took his pets there.  So I called and made an appointment with the vet who takes care of birds.
The Pet Clinic on Beretania St. was where my mom took her Pomeranian for check ups when I was still in my teens.
Dr. Roy Harada, her vet, has passed away but his son, Dr. Craig Harada, who used to help him then, is now Pudgie's doctor.

I remember this office with its little courtyard.
It's so nice to return after over 40 odd years.

Minamoto Kitchoan with Boy's Day decoration.

We tried Shokudo again after over  a year.

The teriyaki salmon

The waiter recommended this dessert, their specialty, honey bread with ice cream.

Pudgie's new food.
His diet might be responsible for his feather pulling so no more seeds, which the vet said is like snacking on popcorn-tasty but not nutritious.
Walnuts are too oily, but apples are okay.  Poor Pudgie loves walnuts.

His meds.
The spray should ease the itching by his tail and the ointment will help his feet.
Lovebirds, from east Africa, are usually hard to handle, but Dr. Harada said Pudgie was very friendly.  Pretty good for a 14 yr. old bird.
