Happy Boy's Day. Rokkaku

Happy Boy's Day
Penny's grooming photo

The shobu (iris) leaves resemble swords which make them a befitting floral symbol for this Japanese holiday.

Today I had a very enjoyable day with Audrey at Ala Moana SC.  Lunch was our usual Bukkake Udon at Rokkaku Hamakatsu.

The salad that comes with it.  The server said we could  keep the  chopstick rest (hashioki).  It was a cute little pig with a cabbage on it's head.  I'll add it to my collection.

The best part of Bukkake udon is the onsen tamago (poached egg).  Bonito flakes, wakame, and tempura crisps cover cold udon noodles.  It is eaten with wasabi.

We also shared a Tempura side order.
Two shrimps and some vegetables.
Just right!
