Happy 100th Nami.  I went with Audrey to Arcadia to visit with her aunt Nami who received a certificate from the Japanese Consulate congratulating her on reaching 100 years old!
Arcadia was ready for Christmas and the lobby was beautiful.

The Nativity
Aunt Namiko with Consul  Endo and his assistant who presented the certificate to her.  She was born a Japanese citizen in Hawaii which is why she is eligible to receive one from the Consulate General of Hawaii.  If she hadn't relinquished her citizenship in favor of the US, she would have received one from the Prime Minister of Japan.

Aunt Namiko has climbed Mt. Fuji herself, been to Antarctica, and ridden monster roller coasters in her 80's!

She was born in 1913, which made me suddenly realize that my parents, who were born in the same year, would be 100 if they had lived.

Then Audrey and I went to Jimbos for a soba lunch.

In the bowl above the crunchy Kakiage udon, is the Neba udon,  topped with nekonbu, okra, grated yamaimo and green onions which makes it slippery but healthy.

Later in the afternoon, Penny got to play with her friends at Aloha Dog so R and I  had time to mail more packages and enjoy a nice meal at Cafe Laufer.
Boneless pork chops

This year's decorations.

Picked up a happy Penny and drove through downtown to see the Honolulu City Lights.
