Happy New Year and Akemashite Omedetogozaimasu.
Welcome Green Horse year!
Nice to make your, uh, acquaintance.

Seems to be okay

Shall we begin our journey?

Onward to 2014!

First lunch of the new year.

Checking it out.  Actually Penny only liked the bonito flakes I had used to make the ozoni soup.

If you look closely you'll notice that the only thing I really cooked was the broccoli.  And, of course, the ozoni soup.

After the Rose Bowl Games we went driving in Manoa.  Peaceful as usual.  Hasn't changed a bit from when I was growing up.
The parking lot for Manoa Falls was pretty crowded.  It's $5 for parking.  Heard in the news that President Obama and family, who are vacationing, went hiking here.
It's the year of the horse and daylight, but last night these sculptures were a little creepy.  Gets your attention, though.
Our first dinner of 2014.  We're usually not formal at home, so, barring guests,  this might be the last in the dining room.

Pork shabu salad with left overs from lunch.  Except I had to buy cheese from Field's in Foodland (Swiss emmanthal, and Parmigiano-Reggiano)
