We made it to Morning Glass at 7:30 a.m.  Early, right?  But the air was cool and the morning light was touching the surrounding mountains and a cardinal was singing away.  (Growing up we had lots of cardinals in the yard,  and I do miss their pretty songs since  living away from Manoa)

We sat outside, because of Penny.  She was a good girl, only occasionally letting out a woof at a passing dog.

There is a brunch menu on the weekends,  and this little cafe fills up quickly

The coffee is delicious.  R tried the watermelon juice which was too sweet for his taste.

Cheese and bacon omelet and kim chee fried rice, which R said was good.

I tried the mac and cheese pancakes.  The delicious batter was mixed with macaroni and corn, and the whole thing covered with cheddar cheese, which surprisingly was not overwhelmingly strong or salty.

So to hopefully work off the rich breakfast we walked  around a bit at Kapiolani Park.  This was the same banyan tree my mother used to walk her dog around when I was a child, and under which he found a $10 bill.
Maybe we should've named her TenTen or Buck instead of Penny, but she did find 3 cents last month.
